Book Discussion/ Plein Air Paint-out!
We had an awesome book discussion meeting a few Saturdays ago at The Green Gem Holistic Healing Oasis, and wish to continue the encouragingly artistic dialogue. We will meet one more time at the Green Gem Holistic Oasis in the Hummingbird Room to finish up on our book of Art And Fear, this Saturday May 9th between 10 and 12 noon for the discussion. At noon to 1PM you are invited to bring your own lunch and eat with the group. After lunch we would like to invite everyone who would like to paint with us to paint on the Green Gem Holistic Oasis grounds from 1 to 4 PM. The facilities will be closed at 1 PM but we can take cover in their Garden Shed if we get questionable weather. In the last discussion we discussed Observations On The Perils (and Rewards) of ARTMAKING by David Bayles and Ted Orland and continued to talk about the second part of the book to the end of chapter VII: The Academic World. We will discuss Chapter VIII to the last chapters and discuss the conclusion of what we have learned from the book.
We hope to paint together all throughout the summer and will start this Saturday at the Green Gem Holistic center. We are invited to plein air paint on their grounds until 4 PM or until we finish. For Summer paint-outs we'll keep you posted of all the exciting plein air events to come in hopes that you will join us.
The Green Gem Holistic Healing Oasis, is a non-profit Holistic Healing Community Organization who have graciously invited us to meet at no cost. The organization is located inside the Dr. William C. Peters House at 900 State Street, Bangor, Maine 04401. We hope to see all those who can make it to our last book discussion/paint-out to come and enjoy this place and a lively discussion based on the last chapters of our book. The book discussions will resume this Fall when we find another excellent read. So please be searching and let me know what looks like a good read for our book discussion meetings.
